Have you ever began a task only to stop short of the finish line? Maybe some things like, working out, reading a book, going to school, or even some kind of house project. For me, I can personally relate to this. I often begin, but then have a rough time making it to the finish line, or even just staying continually consistent. Even with this blog, I have struggled with being consistent in my posting (and I greatly apologize for this). This can often happen when life gets busy and pulls us in many different directions because various things need our attention. Then when we stop doing something, like going to school or working out, it seems so IMPOSSIBLE to get back into the swing of things.
More and more things seem to take priority over what we once saw as important, even to the point of discouragement. I know for myself I have even felt like a failure because I would begin something, but I could never get across the finish line. But one day while I was reading a devotional titled, “Identifying Passion”, I began to see things in a new light. It talked about how we are all made with different passions to change the world for God. I made it three-quarters of the way through, and I had to stop and pray. I began praying for a rekindling of passion in my life; a passion for the things of God. I asked God to uproot all of the negative things people had said to me that had hindered me and still hinder me from moving forward in my passions and gifts. When I was done, in an instant, the words for this post dropped into my spirit and sank into my heart.
Prayer truly does change things, no matter what we face. Once God is set in center stage, everything we thought we couldn’t do we are now able to do.
… but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26
What have you been struggling to do, or keep putting off because you have lost the drive, time, energy, or passion? Have you put it before the feet of Jesus? Have you invited Him in to take a seat in the midst of it? Or have you just given up all hope for it? Know that when it is something that God desires to be, it will be.
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31
That goes for ourselves too. Even when we are a part of the hindrance, God has a way of getting us in line.
It is not too late to finish. God promises in His word that He will redeem the time that has been lost. Go back and finish school. Get back to the gym. Make time for your hobbies, and carve out time to be still and hear God’s voice for your life. Whatever is incomplete in your life, take time right now to pray and ask God for the passion, courage, and strength to continue and finish strong to the end. Ask God for people to come around you as a support team, and help you stay accountable to your goals and dreams.
“For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13
Repent for stopping, ask God for help and guidance, and then begin again. There are people waiting to experience the awesomeness God has placed inside of you. Don’t be afraid of what’s ahead, just know that God will be with you every step of the way.
“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
I am praying for you all. Love you and God Bless!!
